Standing tall on the shores of the Great Lakes, prototypes for the Walthers cornerstone Ore Dock are the centrepiece of any layout. Getting iron ore from the mines to the furnace has always been a huge job. As the furnaces grew, so too did their appetites, requiring loading facilities that were up to the task. Many steel companies and railroads erected huge loading docks at Great Lakes ports to keep the iron ore (and later taconite) moving down to the inland steel mills. Often stretching for hundreds of feet, these engineering masterpieces were first made of wood and later of concrete and steel.
Through a series of pockets lining the sides, iron ore could be loaded by gravity into the waiting holds of the big ore boats. Still in use today, ore docks are home to some of the most fascinating railroading in the world. And with this superb kit, it's easy to make it part of your model railroad as well.
Carefully engineered to look right without being overwhelming, the basic kit builds into a two-track, single-sided dock. But the modular design offers compete flexibility without the need for cutting and kit bashing. Just combine kits as desired to make a wider, longer, customized dock to fit your space. Ideal for installation along a wall or as a scenic view block, the Ore Dock kit features loads of detailed parts, along with elevated approaches, all moulded in colour. Each kit has parts for two-tracks on top and is designed so you can combine kits to fit the space on your layout. Approaches can be combined with Cornerstone Engineered Bridge System components for easy integration into your layout. The chutes are movable and can be built up or down. Complete instructions and decal signs are also included. The Ore Dock is just one of a wide variety of Cornerstone industrial structures.

Here at House of Hobbies, all orders are sent via Royal Mail 48HR Tracked and will normally be dispatched within 2 to 3 working days of acceptance of order. Items marked as 'Available' will typically be shipped within 7-14 days as we call them in from supply

Returns
Sometimes things don't work out, and that's fine! We are happy to issue refunds for new, unopened items that have been sold and fulfilled here at House of Hobbies, within 30 days of delivery. Return costs for non faulty items are at the buyers expense. We will not issue refunds for multiple purchases of the same product at all so this should be taken into consideration when purchasing quantities of an item, whether for collecting or resale. Refunds on returned Pre Ordered items will only be issued as store credit.
Your refund will be sent to you after we have received the product back, and you should receive a full refund within four weeks at the latest (but in most cases, it will be far quicker - this time period just covers transit time for us receive the product back, send it to our distributor, and get a new one back if necessary, then have your refund processed by the bank). We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
If you need to send something back then please package it accordingly and post it to House of Hobbies, Unit F, Platts Lane Industrial Estate, Burscough, West Lancashire, L40 7TP and please include a little note explaining why it's coming back to us and your order number.
