The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the most widely recognized fighters of WWII. Designed by R.J Mitchell, the Spitfire is known for its exploits during the Battle of Britain. Throughout the war, the Spitfire"s engine technology evolved to compete with the newer Axis aircrafts. As a result, there are numerous variants of the Spitfire, which served with distinction in the RAF as well as in the air forces of other countries. The Spitfire Mk. IX was produced as a result of the German Fw190A fighter, which were superior to the earlier production Spitfire Mk. V. The new Spitfire Mk. IX was equipped with a Merlin Series 60/70 engine and two-stage supercharger. This improved the performance of the aircraft and allowed it to match the Fw190A in battle. The production of the Spitfire Mk. IX continued until the end of WWII. The most common Spitfire featured the "C" universal wing, which could be equipped with four 20mm cannons or two 20mm cannons and four 7.7mm machine guns. Some of the Spitfires were also fitted with bomb racks to allow the aircraft to be used as a fighter-bomber.
This set is produced in pre-coloured plastic so additional painting will be required. We recommend the use of Tamiya Glue to construct this kit.

Here at House of Hobbies, all orders are sent via Royal Mail 48HR Tracked and will normally be dispatched within 2 to 3 working days of acceptance of order. Items marked as 'Available' will typically be shipped within 7-14 days as we call them in from supply

Returns
Sometimes things don't work out, and that's fine! We are happy to issue refunds for new, unopened items that have been sold and fulfilled here at House of Hobbies, within 30 days of delivery. Return costs for non faulty items are at the buyers expense. We will not issue refunds for multiple purchases of the same product at all so this should be taken into consideration when purchasing quantities of an item, whether for collecting or resale. Refunds on returned Pre Ordered items will only be issued as store credit.
Your refund will be sent to you after we have received the product back, and you should receive a full refund within four weeks at the latest (but in most cases, it will be far quicker - this time period just covers transit time for us receive the product back, send it to our distributor, and get a new one back if necessary, then have your refund processed by the bank). We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
If you need to send something back then please package it accordingly and post it to House of Hobbies, Unit F, Platts Lane Industrial Estate, Burscough, West Lancashire, L40 7TP and please include a little note explaining why it's coming back to us and your order number.
