The BR232 is part of the DR 130 family of locomotives. They were produced in the Soviet Union in Luhansk, Ukraine from the 1970s onwards, and were imported into the GDR. After the reunification of Germany the Deutsche Bahn (DBAG) inherited them and continue to make use of them mainly as heavy freight locomotives. The development of the DBAG Class 232 (DR Class 132) was spurred by Voroshilovgrad Locomotive Works' new capability to provide locomotives with electric heating. The DBAG Class 232 are still in service after German reunification and have taken over many freight services throughout Germany.
The PIKO models of the 132 series of the DR and 232 comes with finely detailed paintwork and printing, free-standing handlebars, a die-cast zinc frame, and a powerful five-pole motor, which, in combination with two balanced flywheels, guarantees balanced running behaviour.
The lighting is by LEDs. The cab lighting and the tail light can be switched digitally with a PluX22 decoder. The model has two traction tires, which sit diagonally on the inner axles of the two bogies, and electrical power is drawn from all wheels.
A PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 with mfx® capability is installed ex works.

Here at House of Hobbies, all orders are sent via Royal Mail 48HR Tracked and will normally be dispatched within 2 to 3 working days of acceptance of order. Items marked as 'Available' will typically be shipped within 7-14 days as we call them in from supply

Returns
Sometimes things don't work out, and that's fine! We are happy to issue refunds for new, unopened items that have been sold and fulfilled here at House of Hobbies, within 30 days of delivery. Return costs for non faulty items are at the buyers expense. We will not issue refunds for multiple purchases of the same product at all so this should be taken into consideration when purchasing quantities of an item, whether for collecting or resale. Refunds on returned Pre Ordered items will only be issued as store credit.
Your refund will be sent to you after we have received the product back, and you should receive a full refund within four weeks at the latest (but in most cases, it will be far quicker - this time period just covers transit time for us receive the product back, send it to our distributor, and get a new one back if necessary, then have your refund processed by the bank). We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
If you need to send something back then please package it accordingly and post it to House of Hobbies, Unit F, Platts Lane Industrial Estate, Burscough, West Lancashire, L40 7TP and please include a little note explaining why it's coming back to us and your order number.
