3079-1 EF71 primary form

When the Ohu Main Line branches off from the Tohoku Main Line and leaves Fukushima, it immediately challenges the Itaya (Itaya) Pass over the Owa Range, which is the backbone of the Tohoku region. Itaya Pass, which has a steep slope of 33.3 points, was one of the country's leading grade line sections.
The section of Itaya Pass to Yonezawa is also switched from DC to AC in line with full line AC electrification of the Tohoku Main Line in 1954, and at the same time the Itaya Pass which has been double-tracked and has become a bottleneck for transport is greatly improved It is EF71 that appeared as a special-purpose machine of the Ouba Main Line.
The EF71 appeared in an unusual F-shape for AC electric machines, equipped with the first electric regenerative brake, equipped with a specification as a special machine for Itaya Aoi, and worked as a universal machine for both customers and customers.
It was famous that it pulled Kiha 81 and Kiha 181 series of the diesel limited express "Tsubasa" and traveled at Itaya Pass, and continued until the trainization of "Tsubasa" of 1975 (1975).
KATO commercializes the largest of the AC electric locomotives EF71 in response to expectations. Please follow the various trains that travel around the Okuhonsen and reproduce the scene that challenges the steep slope.
